Default "Sunglasses" storage tray

Has anyone in the North American market (where the Feds saved us from ourselves by closing that storage tray) pursued getting the Euro parts and done a retro-fit? I'm not sure that my current glasses would actually fit in the tray if it were open, but it would still be nice to have the additional storage space. Seems like a reasonable DIY project with the right parts and a little background info, but I don't have access to any of the necessary workshop manuals. Anyone know if the cover is hotglued or mechanically fastened and/or how to remove it?

John

I really want that tray also. One of us may have to get the service manual to see what is behind there. The manual is $99 USD from Bentley Publishers (CD ROM). Ari seems to be the man on this board, maybe he could get us the European parts if we need them!

That's a great idea and if the crowbar won't work maybe the "jaws of life" can get that thing open. Whatever it takes to get my sunglasses in there!!
