Default AUDI vs. BMW: Convertable comparison

My brother just drove home from SD. He has a 2002 BMW 330 convo. WE both switched, he drove my new a4, i drove his bmw. THen we switched again. THe differences are abundent. The BMW has a sportier ride, i wont dispute that, and without the CVT, it feels so foreign. The transmission feels "short" and is not nearly as smooth as the Audi. The ride is decent, its a 50K convo as well, so it isnt going to be bad, but when comparing it to the Audi, there is no contest. The Audi is leeps and bounds better in ride quality and engine noise and smoothness. Both look good on the outside, I beleive however the BMW will not age nearly as gracefully as the Audi becasue of its more boxier look compared to the rounded lines of the a4. Overall, the audi is a better car. Being the owner, i guess i am partial, but it helps when my brother said those words and not me. He was pissed when he said it, just like he was made when he found out all the options my car came with and all of the options he had to buy for his bmw from his dealer. So, AUDI vs. BMW, two great convertables, but this time BMW is not the best, just ask my brother.

Honkie, I agree. I posted below with the actual numbers and said you get a lot more options for less money with the A4 Cab. And the features are just about identical. Perhaps the BMW is the "ultimate driving machine" but I am not at all sad about my decision!!

BMW cab a true sports car.
Audi is just a boring cruiser.

I had a BMW for 7 years and loved it. Trouble is, everyone seems to have one nowadays! Im pleased to be getting an A4 Cab and being a little bit more individual, besides which, in my opinion, the dash layout is far nicer than the BMW. I just hope it will be as reliable!

Any other thoughts now that you've had it for a while. I too am a current BMW 325i owner and am looking at the A4 3.0 Cabriolet. I'm just concerned about reliability.
