Default gas pedal response lag

Just bought an A4 Cabriolet 3.0 quartro Didn't notice in the test drive, but car seems to hesitate when hiting the pedal after or during a turn or slowing to 15 to 20 MPH. Seems slugish for a moment before surging forward. Is this normal or do I have a problem?

Default I find the 3.0 CVT to be mostly superb and very responsive; the 1.8T CVT is a different story....

My 3.0 CVT is a remarkable tranny. It has the qickest response I have ever experienced for an automatic. Since it selects the most efficient power/gear ratio in automatic mode, quickly punching the power may take a slight moment for the computer to analyse and adjust. If you use the CVT's manual selection the power delivery is almost instantanious, and arguably the best in the industry (excluding DSG & SMG). Again, I have to say that Audi's CVT is extraordinary.

But CVT drivers with the 1.8T engine will experience allot of turbo lag. This applies to Tiptronic as well, which is slower due to the torque converter. Manual tranny 1.8Ts don't exhibit as much perceptible turbo lag because you can spool up the turbos while still revving on standstill. I drove an A4 1.8T tiptronic for 3 years, and rented an A4 1.8T CVT, and an A4 3.0 manual, each for a week, so I speak from experience.

Default same with me...i was actually worried that the wife would get in

and after being used to her truck, get herself into trouble merging into traffic or something...but as previously stated, you get used to it very quickly.

Default Ah, Folks you missed it/Re: gas pedal response lag

I believe that this gentleman has a Tiptronic tranny with his 3.0 quattro.

I have the same,and don't notice a response lag.

Yes, perhaps I should have stated that I have a tiptronic tranny.

Default Tiptronic should have a slight lag due to the torque converter...

... plus the 200 lbs extra weight from the heavy Tiptronic tranny and Quattro. But it should be negligable compared to turbo lag from the 1.8T.
