Default Has anyone has 2004 A4 transmission problems?

I have a 2004 A4 cab, 3.0 owned it for less than a year and the car
was in the shop for about 3 months in 6 different occasions. Lately
it has been the transmission. It happend a few times only, but twice
it happened in the middle of an intersection, when I was waiting to
make a left turn, the RPM just wouldn't kick when I step on the gas.
Even when I floored it, it had nothing. It went to the dealer 3
times for the same problem, they couldn't find anything, of course,
they couldn't fix it. Just wonder if anyone would be able to help
me! Sad First Time A4 Owner

Default I'd start the Lemon Law process. These failures are less common now, than previously

but in your shoes, I'd be trying to get out from under that car. :-(

Three times in the shop for the same problem is the first hurdle - and you've got that. Next is time in shop vs. time in your garage - I'd say you have that one locked up too.

Hopefully, you are in the States???

Default Multi tronic gearbox

I presume you mean a auto mutli tronic gearbox, if so it will proberly be a valve body fault. This can be checked via measured block values, I think it's channel 65 but I could be wrong, anyway this channel will show how many times the valve body has got stuck. If there is even 1 shown here there is a problem, somtimes just a new valve body will be required other times a new gearbox will be fitted. The new gearbox will come with a 7 plate clutch intead of a 6 plate as this is what Audi have decided is causing the problem.

If the above measured block value no. is incorrect the audi dealer will be able to look up the correct value with out any problem.

Default I'd be on the Phone with AoA... ASAP..

They don't want a Lemon Law case.. work with your zone rep.. AoA will buy it back.. at no cost to you and you will get 100% of what you have paid. Plus a pick of any new Audi.. at a great $$.

FYI.. your problem is your dealer.
We had an 01 A4.. 17K trans problems. stuck in 3rd (auto) then good then bad.. etc. Dealer yanked it and flew a new one in from Germany. 4 days only.
