Japanese DVD Sat Nav?

Thanks, but seems strange that you couldnt use a USA disk in this system.

US and Europe are CD based. Japans is DVD based and the DVD from the A8 doesnt work because it made by NavStar - not Alpine. I looked into it because the screen is much larger than the European one. You can buy it and the radio will work - but you will have no navigation data for the unit. You could always move to Japan.

If Apline make the unit, surely they based it on their existing system, if they sell DVD based satnav in the USA then wouldnt the disk from that system work in the Audi version? There must be a way Dammit!
