Default Update and details for the SoCal TT Club Tecate Mexico Run! (non-TTers too!)...

If you lose track of this message, just go to http://www.socalttclub.org and click on events. I'll need to be paid and receive attendee info no later than August 7th. Here are the details...

The SoCal TT Club Tecate, Mexico Run is set for Saturday, August 20th, 2005 at 8:00 am. We will meet in the San Diego Qualcomm Stadium parking lot at 8 am. Qualcomm Stadium is located at 9449 Friars Road in the Mission Valley area, just northwest of the I-8 & I-15 split. Once inside the lot, stay to your right and keep driving until you see a group of Audis. Please be prompt, as we will be departing at 8:15 sharp.

From there, we will be taking the freeway east bound towards the Southwest Pacific Railroad Museum in Campo, CA, which is located in San Diego's east county. It should take us a bit over an hour to reach the museum. Time permitting, you will have the opportunity to explore over eighty major pieces of railroad equipment, including steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars and cabooses which are available for inspection and interpretation.

An antique train transporting us to Mexico will depart at 10:30 am sharp. We will arrive in Tecate, Mexico at approximately 11:15 am. Our first stop will be a tour of the famous Tecate, Brewery. No open-toe sandals, high heels, or shoes that don't cover your feet are allowed in the brewery. I believe that closed-toe relatively protective sandals are acceptable.

Following the brewery tour, we will do a delicious Mexican lunch as a group and each person will be responsible for paying their own bill. After lunch, you are free to explore the city and shops on your own. Just don't lose track of time, as the train will head back to the U.S. at 3:15 sharp, arriving in Campo at 4:30.

Passports are not necessary if you are a U.S. Citizen. However, you will need a valid driver's license as identification. The cost of the trip is $42 per person and you can pay me via PayPal using bwillis@san.rr.com as the payee. Along with payment, I'd need your full legal name, DOB, gender, citizenship status and for your passengers too to provide to Customs. Your reservation cannot be processed without this info. Sorry, but tickets are non-refundable. This should be a great time and I hope to see you there!
