Default Vibration while accelerating!!

Recently noticed a problem with my 2004 A4 3.0 Quattro Automatic. The car begins to vibrate violently while accelerating. Once I reach that speed, the vibration occurs at any speed while accelerating until I shut the engine off for a short while. The car does not vibrate as much while cruising.

Here is the list of causes that I've been able to come up with while Googling and browsing forums:

CV joints
Driveshaft
Transmission mount
Engine mount

Anyone have any ideas as to what the cause may be?

How's the engine firing, smooth revving? If the engine is misfiring during acceleration or at higher speed, it also causes vibration. Where do you feel the vibration?

1. CV joints. Make noise, not vibration.
2. Driveshaft - Go under the car to see the joint. I don't think driveshaft causes "violent vibration".
3. Transmission or engine mounts, if the engine and transmission is functionally "good", I don't think excessive vibrations occur.

Use vag-com to see if the codes say misfiring.

Cheers,

Louis

I think it's a comination of many things. the CV joints are bad, that's one thing and I'll see afterward if this solves my vibration problem. It's not that violent but disturbing comparing to before.

I lookink into Engine mount, transmission mount and snub mount!
the engine is running good but I'll have it checked!

Thanks for the input

the Right CV joints were shot. Change the 2 front drive axles, from RockAuto. The vibration stopped and no more Clunks when the transmission downshifts. It,s wonderful again. It drives like a beauty.

I'm glad you found the problem, it's good to know when my car starts to vibrate.

Thanks for sharing,

Louis
