19 inch rims w/ all season tires
Hey,
Anybody know of any good all season tires for 19 inch wheels? I live in the Midwest and I am not a fan of the 18 inch wheels.

The Continental Extreme Contact DWS has good ratings on www.tirerack.com. I just bought the DW version ("Dry, Wet", versus "Dry, Wet, "Snow")in a size 255/40/19 mounted on some nice wheels from Pyspeed.com. They haven't arrived yet, but should be at more door any day. I just looked for the DWS and it's not offered in that same size, but it does come in a 245/45/19 which should work fine. I'm keeping the stock 18" wheels for winter tires. You might consider that as well.

I do not recommend Goodyear Eagle LS2, my A6 came with them & they are bit noisy at HWY speeds so either Conti or Michelin pilot both are very good tires.

I have DWS on my A4 and have been satisfied overall with their performance and wear. However, as it's been noted, they are not available in the 255/40-19 size. For my new A6 I'm going to try the Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS which are rated #1 right now at Tirerack in the A/S ultra hi performance category. I've owned the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S in the past and while they performed very well, I found the sidewalls too stiff for my taste and they wore out faster than others I've owned.

+1 on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. We have had several sets of them on a sport package BMW and they are terrific in just about all conditions and all types of driving.

I've had the Conti Extreme summer DW on my Avant for about 2k miles.
Overall a good tire for the price (under 230 on tire rack for a 19")
They do have a softer sidewall and I notice a bit more body roll than my old Pzero Rosso. I can't be as aggressive with the DW as I was with the Pzero
But I could not see spending $400 on the Pzero. It got very noisy and they start going downhill after only 8-9k miles.
The DW is a very good all around tire for the money.

I have recently decided on an a6 instead of an a7. My question is has anyone asked to have the a7 19 inch sport package rims installed on an a6. They are the same as the 2012 a6 sport package but 19 in as opposed to 18 in.
