2.0 owners, anyone changed their timing chain tensioner as routine maintenance?

100k miles on a part that has failed on multiple VAG models and been updated half a dozen times. Swap it out on our 2014, or ignore? Any DIY advice?

Its not part of Audi's normal maintenance plan so it wont get changed. If you plan to keep it then its worth doing as a small amount of stretch on the chain will cause rough running prior to complete engine failure

If this was an earlier version, there would be no question, but most of the issues were straightened out by 2014. It's just really a question of the possibility of failure of the updated part versus the effort and risk of altering timing from installing new tensioner.
Agreed that for sure, Audi will say not to touch it. "Lifetime" part - lol
