2012 A6 high oil consumption

I own 2012 A6 3.0t S line and have been adding a QUART every 3000 miles for the last 9000 miles, presently at 21,000. Went to the dealer for consumption test and said they found a sticky oil crankcase valve, replaced it, did an update, and they think that will help. They said to moniter the usage. I drive the car sportily but not overly aggressive. I will not be satisfied burning a quart every 3,000. The world operates on a bell-shaped curve but being on the wrong end often implies an issue. Can't tolerate an issue for $60k+ car.

I've got nearly 20,000 miles on my 11 month old A6 and haven't noticed any oil consumption as of yet. The service guy hasn't mentioned it being low and it's always right at the top line when I "check" it.
I do notice that there's some black deposits on the tailpipes.
As far as "break in" goes...I drove the car off the lot with less than 20 miles on it and didn't stop it for about 250 miles driving on an interstate almost the whole way at about 65 - 70mph. I did pass a few people and did drive up to about 75mph during those miles. I then drove it about 350 miles home at the same 'slow' speeds. The next few miles were around town and then another 1,100 mile trip on the interstates followed by several hundred miles in town.

I'm sitting at 6500 miles and my oil level is almost at the min level.
I haven't put too much thought into oil consumption before, but now I'm a bit more worried, as I didn't expect my oil reading to be this low at 6500 miles.

I'm fairly certain that being at the min level indicates you are approximately 1 quart low. That is not bad at all for 6,500 miles especially if some spirited driving is mixed in that 6,500 miles. Now 1 quart low after 2,000 miles or so is excessive no matter what Audi's manual states. Plus when the car is new it tends to consume a bit more oil during break in typically.

My 2012 A6 3.0T after 24000 miles gave me an "add oil 1 quart" warning light. Took it to the dealer and they had it for a day. They did the following: Replaced the pressure regulating valve and did a software upgrade. To do all this they had to remove/reinstall the compressor and a whole bunch of other stuff. It appeared to me that this was something that the service people were aware (i.e., it is common or they have a service?).
I have had four Audis so far and always changed the oil at 5000 miles. In my current car this was the first time (at 24,000) that I last changed the oil at 15000 miles (i.e., 9000 miles ago). I am new to this forum and am surprised at the number of notes on oil consumption for the A6.

During my 15,000 mi service I asked the technician about going 10,000 mi between oil changes and he said that the engine monitoring system has advanced to the point that this was acceptable, especially with the contained system in the new Audis.

I think Audi has addressed the issue since 2012.......
