I think it's time to post a thread on pricing and sales experiences. The demos have arrived. The launch variants will be in soon - likely by the end of the month now that there is official pricing. We need some ammo when it's time to sit down and talk numbers with the dealer.
I think this is okay, as there really aren't any other Audi forums that have any active discussion. Other car makes (BMW and others) have a much more active online community, so I say we start ours here.
retroclutch posted on a recent thread his dealer interaction:
The dealer offered me around $2800 off the A7 (custom order) and $2400 off the A6 (also custom order) right off the bat. I've never owned an Audi so I don't get any loyalty discounts or anything. I'd also recommend buying over leasing, based on the quotes I was given. The finance payment is around $40 bucks more than the lease payment with $0 down. That's the route I plan on going once I decide on one.
Anybody else talk numbers yet? I did some checking of the TMV of Audi vehicles on Edmunds.
2011 A6 Prestige, loaded
MSRP: $55775
Invoice: $51934
TMV: $51721
2012 A7 Prestige (metallic, sport, side assist, destination)
MSRP: $68430
Invoice: $63704
TMV: $68316
Two things are obvious. The 2011 A6 is discounted below invoice as the new model year is near. The 2012 A7 is essentially going for MSRP. I think we need to use the A7 as our guide.
2012 A6 Prestige (metallic, sport, side assist, destination)
Estimated MSRP: $59630 (almost certain now with pricing posted)
Estimated Invoice: $55512
Obviously this is an invoice estimate that keeps the 93% rate the invoice is for the A7 compared to A7 MSRP. Rough, but adequate. I think that will be pretty close. In conclusion, I think the deal offered to retroclutch ($2400 off MSRP) is a very good one for a new car that isn't even available for purchase yet.
My questions to the forum:
1) If you preorder an A6, are you handcuffed when it's time to deal?
2) Has anyone else been offered any discount?
3) Any idea about actual invoice?
Most importantly...
4) Have dealer incentives and financing been announced by AOA??????

Got a call today. A6 financing is available, but leasing info is not.
36 mo 0.9%
48 mo 1.4%
60 mo 1.9%
I'm pretty happy about that. Wasn't sure if the A6 would jump up to 2.9% for 60 months like the A7. Dealer also said he is doing $1000 to $1500 off A7's right off, with room for negotiation. Judging by that, I think we can assume the $2400 above is a great deal. I would be happy to push a dealer to $2000.

Hey Teddy, I see you quoted me earlier. I rechecked my math, did it previously in my head without exact figures. I was off by a bit. Sorry. It was $1,936 off MSRP for A6 Prestige with Metallic Paint including destination. Can't remember if it included DMV. Got that quote from Legend Audi in Long Island.
Interesting about the 1.9% financing. I was told it was 2.9% on Thursday but they didn't have final figures in. Also I was told that the 60 months could be extended to 66 months at same rate. I wonder if that applies here. The exact price I got was $56,194. Lease was $980.05 for 36 Months/10k (based off the A7 numbers to provide estimate). Financing at 2.9% for 66 Months, $1,004.58 with nothing down and $912.44 with 10% down.
I still can't make up my mind. A7 is appealing but the value just isn't stacking up. I wonder if it would even make more sense to do an A6 with Prestige + Innovation for less than an A7 with Prestige alone.

Wait, what?
A $56k car with a $980/mo lease payment?
Your financing numbers of $1000/mo w/ 0 down and $912 w/ 10% make sense but the lease is several hundred too high. Maybe you meant $780?

Taxes+Fees in the payment. I was given a 53% residual and .00186 MF. Did you guys get different numbers?

Wow!
We are getting numbers all over the map! Obviously Audi has not officially released financing terms yet. I guess the early numbers are just guesses. I think I'll probably end up sticking with Bank of America. I can get 2.49 for 60 months, with perhaps an additional discount as an existing customer. Best rate I've seen, other than the 1.9 I thought Audi had. I guess my dealer was quoting 2011 A6 numbers.
By the way, BoA offers a 72 mo loan for 2.99. I was told by a dealer that Audi financing only does 72 mo loans on certified used vehicles. Not sure if this is true or if there will be a 66 month option.

Ordered my 2012 A6 in late April. It is supposed to be in the last week of July. I went in for an A7, but they wouldn't budge on price (1800 off MSRP). I was able to get 300 above invoice on the A6. I am pretty happy with this price (around 3400 off MSRP) The rate was 2.9 for 60 months on the A7. I am still waiting to hear back from the dealer on the rates for the A6
