2013 3.0 Gas Mileage
I now have my 2013 A6 3.0 Prestige for a little over two weeks and filled the tank three times and must say I am pleasantly surprised. I am coming from a 2002 A6 2.7T which over the 10 years I had it averaged 20.2 MPG which was very disappointing. In the first three fill-ups I have attained 25.8, 24.8 and on a trip from New York to Boston and back 28.3 getting a total of 482 miles on the tank.
Granted I had mostly highway mileage on this trip but my prior A6 never came close to this figure. Not sure what others are experiencing but If I consistently get over 24 MPG I will be more than thrilled. The ’13 A6 is by far a better car than my ’02 A6 in every single way.

completely agree...my '13 averages around 25mpg everyday going to and from work, and on the rare occasion I'm on the freeway I am easily in the low 30's. loving the A6 so far (3 months owned coming from a 2005 mazda 6).

Nice! I'm guessing you guys drive mostly highway?
When I do road trips I get around 27-30 (measured at the pump). For my day to day commute traffic, I get around 20 at the pump.
Note that my 2011 A4 2.0T also got around 20-21, and it had the same transmission too. That's a pretty impressive feat for this bigger car and more powerful engine!
It still pales to my previous car, a BMW ActiveHybrid 3, which averaged 26mpg over its 18,000 miles in my possession. (And yes, that's driving the exact same route as the A4 and A6).

S4. These are highway mileages with avg speed in the 70's. (Around town the average is about 21 or so..) If I kept it under 90, would probably crack 30 mpg. Impressive given the size of the A6!
