Because I like beating dead horses I suggest the OP go to the Audi of America site and use the configurator to build an A6. When you get to the end you can select “view interior”. Then go back by clicking on to #2 Equipment and on the right side under the “Packages” (this includes non-package options) check the black headliner. It changes in the interior view so you can toggle back and forth between standard and black headliner by checking and unchecking the box. You cannot see the actual headliner but you do see the A and Pillars to see what tenspeed mentioned.

Great decision and best of luck with the whole process. I love these cars.
You would have gotten feedback from some of the Grand Patrons of this site, except that they seem to clam up when black headliners are mentioned, possiby because this option was not available or promoted when they got their cars and they are bitter. Whatever, but I really think it does change the entire character of the interior and am so happy I have it.

Placed my order for a 2014 A6 prestige on Monday....
My dealer called me today and informed that Audi is not yet accepting orders for 2014 models.....did not specify if that was specific to A6 models or all models.
I realize the 2014 order guide was just released but if anyone has information on when building will begin / orders will accepted, it would be appreciated.
Ordered/ will order a prestige in daytona grey, black interior with aluminum trim, 19 sport package ( 5 spoke split wheel ) , LED's.
Hard time with exterior color choice as I really like quartz and glacier but once the daytona became an option ( without a 2500$ price tag ) I decided to go with it. Love it's look on the A7 and some S6 pics recently published...hope it looks as great on the A6 prestige.

How soon does that equate to cars on lots?
Do you guys feel you have less room to bargain when ordering a brand new model year from the factory? What would that equate to in dollars?
For example what would a rough dollar difference be between a 2013 on the lot at end of model year and a factory order of a 2014 at the start of the model year? Thousands?

I cant say for certain. In my case I negotiated 3K off MSRP on a 2013 I first ordered about 7 weeks ago.. My dealer was willing to apply the same amount off on a 2014 model...which I chose to go with after the order guide was released...although this will delay my car arrival by at least 6-8 weeks. Pricing has not been released for 2014 A6's so I cant tell you what the difference would be. My 2013 order MSRP was approx 61,200 ... delear agreed to 58,200 ( which was Edmunds TMV for this car ).
I would guess you should be able to do better than that on a 2013 ON THE LOT...as they will be eager to move these to make room for 2014 inventory.
As a note, I was not eligible for any Audi employer discount or loyalty programs which could have reduced my price even further..
I cant say for certain a dealer would be willing to drop 3K off a 2014 you need to order...

Anyone seen 2014 pricing yet?
I am seriously considering cancelling my 2013 order because of some games the dealer is playing and going elsewhere and ordering a 2014
