I participated in that audizine thread. I also started this thread:
https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...light=steering
and this one whereby, as Deerhunter recalled, does not work for C7s - lots of issues making that Vag change.

Read all the way through.

I have a 2014 Q5 on order and Audi may have fixed the steering issue, or hopefully they didn't lock out using the VAGCOM mod.

I'm was saying an official Audi software fix can do the trick, they just need to disable the steering auto-correct feature (which they won't).

You don't indicate if these are old and new rack model numbers or just "new".

Not in your first post but in response to my post, you did kind of imply I should read this full thread which indicated to me (and possibly others) that this was a simple fix that would solve the problem. Perhaps in your reply to mine you might have mentioned that it was likely for B8s only rather than just read this "all the way through". Just saying.
I said it would take 1 minute for Audi engineering to change the coding across the Audi lineup to fix the steering issue. As I said, I have a 2014 Q5 on order and I will code it if they didn't disable that access.

Hello,
I have an audi A5 3.0 tdi multitronic with steeringproblems. I bought it in 2012 and after 3000 miles the problems were there. A strange resistance in the steeringwheel. At high speed the steeringwheel doesn't give the right feedback. They have already changed the rack and after almost the same mileages, the problems were there again. At this moment they have done a software update. After this update, the problems are still there. I live in Belgium and at audi Germany, they thought the software update was the right answer to this problem. I think a total new rack is the answer !There are in Belgium and Germany more than 1000 cases with the same problem(A4,A5,A6,A7 and Q5)
