When looking into the rectangular exhaust ports I notices the outlet from the mufflers have been squeezed to fit the new cosmetic openings. It looks very restrictive to me...I know the Germans know what they are doing but for a supercharged engine I would expect a better flow..visually at least. Any thoughts on where to go for an aftermarket exhaust..but keeping the new rectangular exhaust outlets. Thanks

What exhaust ports are you referring to? Are you looking at the exhaust ports on the heads??
Engines are large air pumps. Increasing the exhaust pipe diameter can result in decreased engine performance as it can create back pressure.
Think about the difference between blowing though a small straw versus a much larger diameter straw. The velocity changes... and also affects the sound. If the exhaust pipe diameter is too large you will have a system that could potentially cause a back flow that results in exhaust gas hanging.. or recirculating back into the exhaust valve's suction. That would ruin performance.
Exhaust systems need to evacuate burned gasses and size of the pipes helps ensure that. Too large a diameter pipe will cause gasses to hang rather than be forced out.
Sorry.. Hope that makes sense.

Yes..I am looking at the exits out the rear bumper. AWE appears to have an exhaust that would fill in the valance nicely. I am wondering if anyone has fitted this exhaust to the 16 model. Thanks to all for your responses.
