Default A6 Biturbo TDI numbers

Hi

I've got a loaner A6 twin turbo 3.0 TDI and I thought I'd get my Racelogic unit connected to it (on a private track of course). The unit is well calibrated as I've been on track with it recently and compared its data with circuit data. It's done about 3000 miles.

I did a few runs and below seemed the best. I switched off the stop-start and traction control for this.

Speed(mph) Time(secs)Distance(metres)
0.00 0 0.00
10.00 0.50 1.22
20.00 1.06 5.04
30.00 1.74 12.68
40.00 2.56 25.51
50.00 3.58 46.10
60.00 4.82 76.80
70.00 6.23 117.72
80.00 7.93 174.72
90.00 9.97 252.31
100.00 12.31 352.05

Not bad. Quicker than my A8. A remap on this to ~390hp would be pretty good.

The sound from the exhaust with the actuator is ok, not as thrilling as I thought it would be, definitely not like a diesel.

that is too fast!!!!!!!!

Is that the 313 HP?

it looks like it's faster than the 3.0TFSI in the 0-60 but slower in the 100+ range

yes, its the 313ps model.

you actually get a wallop of acceleration as it changes gear, which you don't get with my a8.

its going back today, but it'll be an nteresting ~40 mile drive.

maybe that is the benefit of an S tronic transmission if you are in euro which is not available in the A8 and not mentioning how heavy the A8 is.

but really what's surprising me is that the diesel model is faster than the petrol model. what if your cars had the twin turbo it would make the A6 a real monster

My A8 is about 200kg heavier than the A6 I had.

Also, both have the 8 speed auto transmission. In the single turbo and twin turbo 3.0 TDI's they only have that transmission in europe too. The other models use the S-tronic or manual.

I wish Audi would bring this engine to the US.
