So, i thought I saw someone recently post that the C7 A6 muffler does not have that plugged second exhaust opening for the second outlet the way the A7 muffler does. This would require a different mod (single pipe to twin tips) from the A7 where you can have 2 pipes coming out of the muffler.
Has this been confirmed that they are in fact different?

I have looked at my 3.0T and a 2.0T A6 and they both have a muffler with a single offset outlet. Equally offset, on the other side of the muffler, is a flat round area where the second pipe would be. I plan on cutting out that second hole, adding a stub and then adding the second tip to the new stub.
I was just gonna use these. Much easier than making a hole in the muffler.

Mike, curious if you ever went with this product, vs cutting out the second muffler exhaust blanks. Thinking about going this route, unless cutting the second openings has a positive change to the stock exhaust note....
may try to go the honeycomb route if I can find it for a decent price.
There are some folks on here who have simply cut out (widened) the opening in the stock S-line valence to allow for the quad tips, looks exactly as you have pictured here.
I did this mod when I had a a7 and it was a terrible idea! Opening that sealed stub will give the worst drone possible! It's just simply underivable around 1600-2500rpm on higher gears and that's where the a7 supercharged stays most of the time on regular driving, city or hwy. It looked good , especially because I did the carbon fiber rs7 diffuser with oem tips , so I keep the double pipes look but one only remain opened . For sound improvement and a bit better exhaust flow resonator delete it's the best mod ,if you don't want to change to much of the oem set up

Where'd you get the AWE exhaust tips (just the tips alone)?

While getting the tips done, I noticed that Ross-Tech was in Lansdale, PA and only 10 minutes away. I drove over and they did me a big favor and enabled a few VAG-COM codes: engine start dials sweep, gear indicator and remote window open. Great guys there.
