Default Advice re: CPO 2012 A6 w/ titanium wheels

Hi,

New poster here. I've enjoyed reading for awhile and appreciate all the helpful and informative posts.

I've been looking for a new A6 3.0 w/ black (brilliant or phantom) exterior and black interior/chrome trim and 19" or 20" wheels. Having struck out with all the Audi dealers in my state, on a lark I searched Autotrader and found a CPO A6 Prestige package w/ approx. 9,500 miles that has the exact combo I'm looking for. It also has non-standard Audi titanium wheels (I'm assuming 20"). Not sure about other options yet. Here's a link to photos, etc: http://www.valleymotors.com/Baltimor...k-Car/7857269/

My question for the forum is whether this is a good deal if I can get it around $52-53k (Edmunds and KKB do not have 2012 values yet) and if anyone has past experience with the Audi CPO program or buying out of state.

I'm usually a new car guy but this seems like it may be a good deal on a great ride.

Thanks for any and all responses.

Did you search using cars.com? I live in Arizona and there are plenty of black on black out here. Personally I'd wait to find a new one, even if it means shipping one cross country. You may want to just order a 2013 and get exactly what you want.

Thanks. Haven't tried cars.com; will check it out. I'm hesitant to ship across country, just because I like to see and drive a car in person before I buy. The CPO is close enough that I could fly up and drive back home on a weekend.

Those wheels look sexy on that car... too bad it doesn't have the Sport suspension, to give it that mild drop.

That car brand new is probably around $58000, invoice at $54500. I would shoot for at least $51000. Those rims are nice, make sure the rims are Audi oem and not replicas.

I would find a new one and get a good deal on it. There should be 2012's out there, the 2013 start production very soon. If you do decide to get that one you have lots of room to deal, it is a used car even if it has only 9,500 miles on it. I would think under $50,000 Was it a loaner car for the dealership or a trade in?

It looks like it was a trade-in from the carfax report.

Based on the feedback so far, I think I will follow your advice and hold out for a new one; maybe wait until July or August and try to get a deal on a 2012 at the end of the model year. My A4 is running fine right now, so I'm not in a rush.

I really appreciate everyone taking the time to respond.

buying a new car is always the best thing to do if the money is not a problem as you dont know know how did the previous owner/s drive it and you should see the 2013 a6 as there are some changes

best of luck
