Anyone know a dealer discounting Audi Care?

Dealer cost is only about $25-$50 below retail price so good luck getting a dealer to discount it by itself. Dealer makes profit selling AC by the labor reimbursements from Audi when the car is serviced.

When I leased my 2006 A4 after we agreed on the price they went through a bunch of add-ons and I turned them all down, including Audi Care. They eventually threw it in at no increase to the previoulsy negotiated monthly lease payment. The salesman and his sales manager said it is worth it for them otherwise I would likley skimp on maintenance and return the car not in top shape or I'd take it elsewhere for service (Mavis and such) and at least this way they get Audi's reimbursement for the service visits as well as any warranty work they can "find" when the car is in the shop. I noticed that every time I brought the car in they were asking if I wanted tires balanced, rotated (things not covered by AC) - anything to get back their money. On a two-year lease there really wasn't much they could get from me, unless they reported work to Audi that was in fact not done. That sort of scam does happen I hear.

If you buy either the audi pure protection or tire/wheel insurance and audicare through fd warranty.com, they will knock off $25 off the audi care.
Very good pricing on audi pure protection, too.

I had heard that maybe the dealer cost of Audi Care was about $100 under MSRP. I bought from Audi of Bernardsville, which basically gives the cars away (if you negotiate hard) and then makes it up on the service. I asked them to price out the 15, 25, 35, 45K service so I could compare to the $820 for AC. The total? $1400

Audi Care is even more worth it for the 2.0T or the CVT, than for the 3.0T because for the same price of $820 you get:
- 2.0T requires a spark plug change at 35,000 miles
- CVT requires a transmission fluid change at 35,000 miles.
- 2.0T requires a spark plug change at 35,000 miles
- CVT requires a transmission fluid change at 35,000 miles.

Even at 34% savings it's a good deal (unless you're a do it yourselfer). I usually wait until the 15K mile/1 year service to buy it. It keeps the money in my pocket longer although the price usually will go up a bit year to year. As has been reported, if you lease, it makes sense to include it at delivery as there's lease cost benefit to AC.
In any case, there's not much profit margin, so getting much (or any) of a discount is pretty tough. My dealer for my last three Audis wouldn't budge a dime on the AC price. Of course, I didn't leave him a boatload of profit on my cars either so he wouldn't have had a lot of headroom left.
