It's pretty easy. You just have to get the metal clips off the back. I use a pick from a four piece pick and hook set I bought ages ago. http://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-6943-Precision-Pick-4-Piece/dp/B000NPPBQK A small screwdriver would work too. The metal clips re-attach very easily if you want to reinstall the badge later. I've de-badged just about every Audi I've owned. No one who has ever bought the cars from me has asked me for the badges or to reinstall them.

You just reach through the front of the grille and push the clips on to the back of the badge. It will make a lot more sense once you have the badge off and can see how the metal clips attach.

ok, there are NO clips on my quattro badge, period. I checked. No idea how it's stuck onto the grill. and this is a completely different grill than my 2005 A6 so maybe they're doing something different in the way the badge is stuck on? Either way, I removed just the quattro silver rectangle from the plastic mount. I figure I can do the same with the new one, just attach it to the existing mount with tape or glue.

I spoke too soon, there ARE clips and they are a bitch to get off. Seriously. Maybe I used too large a head on my screw driver but wow, lucky I didn't chip the paint. I think my first idea was better, just glue on the plate onto the mount for the quattro badge. Oh well, it's off for now, looks clean.
