It works ok for google earth and online destinations but wi-fi is not usable.
Just tested my connection..

Verizon WiFi in my house
Ping 29ms
Download 10.33Mbps
Upload 14.07Mbps

Verizon 4G
Ping 75ms
Download 13.18Mbps
Upload 9.64Mbps

WiFi on Audi/T-Mobile connection in the car
Ping 1219Ms
Download 1.56Mbps
Upload 0.13Mbps
(not happy with 3G)

Thanks in advance

I'm using my iPad AT&T SIM in the MMI for 2 weeks now and other than 2G only I have not seen any difference. Using the WiFi hotspot feature is pretty useless on 2G but Google Earth, online POI search and myAudi destinations all work fine. And coverage is better in most areas I drive to.

$5/month Audi Connect?

I am going to try a new pay as you go plan to get the monthly cost down to $5. I'll report back my findings.

Update on ptel $5/month Audi connect option

I have this up and running, all went smoothly. On track to get monthly cost to $5 and retain functionality of Audi Connect including Google voice search and Google Earth maps.

See update in original thread in Q7 forum:

I just read your post and the link to the Q7 site. I just ordered. It was as easy as you guys made it out to be. Once I receive the SIM card, I'll report back on my experience too.

Thanks for your research!

Ok, so I ordered the Ptel SIM card yesterday. It arrived today! So far I'm impressed.
I went to their website and activated it. No problems. I followed the instructions in this tag to activate it in the car. No problems. Now Google maps is up and running, and on-line connection is active. Total time to activate was less than 10 mins!

Awesome!

How is the data speed with TMOBILE 3G...? does every thing load fast? what about the wifi hotspot, is its speed fast enough that i can actually use my laptop with it?

Also, does anyone know what size SIM do i need to get for my S6, regular size SIM i presume?

thx
