Default Audi Music Interface Online

Audi Germany has posted some information about its new Audi Music Interface Online.

http://translate.google.com/translat...e.html&act=url

The Audi music interface online adds the following options to the Audi music interface:
• scheduled recording of internet radio stations via home WLAN
• playback of recorded content in the car
• Database with Internet Radio stations and podcasts
• Live streaming of Internet Radio stations in the car (when using USB WWAN stick)
• WLAN Hotspot (when using USB WWAN stick)

Sounds to me like the WWAN stick would be the way to go to get the car connected to anything but t-mobile. No word on whether or not this will be a global offering or upgradable feature for older cars.

Interesting, does not scroll through to show what cars does it support or if its available only in Germany right now. Wondering if the cars being made (including mine) will include such an update or not. Highly doubt it.

Seems to be only available in the A1 right now and does not support MMI3G+ with AudiConnect (based on what has been posted on Motor-talk.de).

is there any movement on this?
I've entered all the necessary config details into myaudi and tried to update with the file produced via an SD card, my new A6 very briefly flashes a screen to start the update but then flicks to "The medium is currently unavailable" .

I have an iPhone app which once running and connected to the car's WiFi shows up as a WiFi player. Doesn't work properly though, only a few of the tracks on the phone are available and I've not yet found good enough network coverage to play internet radio reliably (Vodafone - will try a better network).

I just had my 5k service done and got a MMI update to fix the HD radio reception issue. I can now see the UPnP/WiFi Streaming icon under Media/Sources.

http://www.audiusa.com/com/brand/en/...ic_stream.html

Audi is offering the Audi Music Stream app in the German (and probably other) iTunes app stores but it's not in the US store yet.

If the iOS devices is connected tot he MMI WiFi hotspot and the WiFi is selected as source under Media, the AMS app will look for the MMI and can be controlled via MMI once connected.

The MMI wouldn't see all songs on my iPod but streaming Internet radio was working ok as long as the t-mobile coverage was not too bad.

It's not a TSB, it should an MMI software upgrade to PO566.
