Default Beer Cooler!

OK, maybe I'm late to the party, but have other people discovered the "beer cooler" in the glove box? There's a vent from the climate control system that can be opened or shut to keep your sandwich or favorite beverage cold. How great is that?!?!

Yep, I think there's something in the owners manual about it, along with a caution.

That's supposed to be in the righthand cup holder, the larger one. But, I think only the EU cars got it

Can any EU guys confirm this on their car? If so, I wonder how hard it would be to add/activate after the fact? Would be one "cool" mod! (sorry, couldn't resist!) :P

My car has just a regular dual cupholder. Never seen any heating/cooling devices in it. Glove box is air contitioned dough.
But there is a picture at the Audi Exchange Facebook site: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=1&theater The picture is from an Q5.

Screw that! I'm not touching this car period. Can't imagine what problems could arise from these simple mods. I did work with heating elements and they are quite easy to do. But not on 60k car.

I was serious. If I'm not mistaken the glove box cooler is simply a supply duct from the A/C, right? If in fact there is such an option I'd like to know how it was routed/supplied to the console. Probably isn't that difficult to run something inside the console (who knows, maybe it's already there?). That's what I'd like to know. I for one am not afraid of the time-honored tradition of modding Audis. Not saying I want to hack it up, but if it was a simple retrofit with OEM parts I'd definitely consider it.
