I had 2 Acura TL Type-S back in 2008 that had black interior and black headliner and loved it, to me it makes the interior less distracting, especially the A pillars.

Tell me about it! I guess they do have to ship it half way round the world, and they have also got to fund a very small support footprint here (premium cars in general, and Audis in particular, are not here in huge numbers) which must nevertheless still deliver the premium - and hence expensive - service which you expect from the brand. In the last few years the costs of cars like ours have remained fairly static in NZ$ terms, at a time when our dollar has strengthened considerably, so I guess the car companies have been raking in extra margin while they can. I guess that can work both ways over a longer time period. Either way, you do need to have a friendly banker and an understanding wife :-)
