Its all matter of preference... Personally, I like the Walnut/Glossy wood... I ordered Aluminum, and was starting to second guess it... but with the Glacier White & Black interior, it looks modern, sporty.. and yes.. Sterile is a good word to describe it

I've had faux metal finishes in my Acuras... but everybody compliments the Aluminum on the A6... its so fresh and clean.

In a black or gray interior, I would agree.

My wife doesn't want a black interior so we're ordering nougat. Every other interior we have had has been black, gray or tan. We had the opportunity to see an A6 and A7 side by side in a show room. One ash and one walnut so it's one less decision for us.

I had the glossy walnut in my C6 and felt it too staid and conservative, like driving my aunt's Jag or dad's Lexus circa '99, and I would think especially so in the "modern" C7 interior.
