Car has 1200 miles. I've noticed this on a frequent basis after casual driving. It does not occur at every shutdown with no focal point (brakes, exhaust, coolant, etc).
I thought it might be some wrapping material around the exhaust, when new, but the car has enough miles by now, right ?

I would think it's either a small oil or coolant leak. They have different odours, so I can't help you determine which it is remotely. I would bring it up to the dealer. They can put a fluorescent dye in the coolant and check if that's the problem, plus they can look for oil residue.

I had that too when new. Smelled like coolant to my nose. Even had slight odor when A/C was engaged, though very faint. Never was able to find any fluid on floor or under the car. Cabin air filter replacement at 15K recently showed nothing abnormal either - thought the dealer would at least find a coolant color on the media. It eventually went away after some time. Haven't smelled it for >10K miles now.
