So I took delivery of my S6 earlier this week. After looking down and realizing that I am at 95 MPH basically without even tryng, i need to plug in my radar ASAP. There doesn't seem to be anywhere but the center console to plug it in, and many on the forum said check the rearview mirror, from what i saw nothing there.

I really dont want to hardwire my V1, any ideas besides strecthcing the cord over the MMI screen and plugging into center console? My s5 had a 12v plug, this car does not.

My A6 has an alarm when you go over a certain speed (mine is set for 85) you could use that as well if you don't want to hardwire.

I have a C6 A6 (2010) and will be getting a C7 when my lease is up. Do I understand correctly that C7's do not have a 12V outlet in the front console or dashboard area? I plug my radar detector, cell phone charger and a few other devices in my 12V outlet from time to time - what can I do once I get a C7? I don't want the detector permanently installed - I only use it 4 or 5 times a year on trips to unfamiliar places.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you now need to get the "smoker package" (or whatever that's called) to get the 12v in the tray directly below the dash. There is a 12v in the center console still.

That's what I was told by a Salesman at my Audi dealer. You have to order the car with it, because Audi has stopped putting them in. I don't know the Package code for it though

There's also 2 more 12v sockets in the back of the console fold out "ashtray".

Very annoying about the lighter plug, but I decided to just have it wired up to the rear view mirror area and I just have my passport 9500xi suction cupped right behind the passenger side visor. not too noticeable. Made sense since I had to have the laser jammers installed in the front bumper anyway.

Thanks - as long as there is some 12V outlet in the front I am OK. I've never smoked and don’t allow it in anything I own (house, car, boat) but I do want a place to plug things in. Draping over the console doesn’t matter as long as it is there. From the OP's first post I got the sense there was no 12V outlet anywhere near the driver. Sorry if I over reacted.
