Does anyone have a compass (N, S, NE, SW, etc.) in their rear view mirror? Earlier Audis, like my 02 allroad, had it but not in my A6 Prestige. I realize there's a compass available in the DIS and a small indicator on the MMI Nav display but it was handy to be able to glance up at the mirror to see in what direction you are going, especially if the Nav map is not selected on the MMI screen.
I wonder if it exists and if there's a Vag setting that would enable it. Probably not....

It is gone. I keep my display at the big digital MPH setting, so a simple push/click of the left arrow brings up the compass in the display. That graphic compass is a good size and once you get used to it seeming to float, is actually easy to follow. A simple click of the right arrow and you're back at big MPH again. You are correct that having to go to the NAV when you don’t have it on (which is 95% of the time for me) is a PITA. The one in the display is much easier to get to and is pretty big in terms of legibility, so honestly I am not missing it in the mirror (which to me is very much out of the normal "looking forward" line of sight), but to each their own.

Strange they deleted it. My 2013 s4 has it, but my 2012 c7 a6 did not. It seems like the a6 a7 line is the o nay place where this has been removed. I am not sure if its an all in one unit that could be retrofitted from another vehicle.

I had it in my C5 as well. I miss it, but I do like the compass in the center info center. That compass is a thumb click or 2 away for me in case I fall off the beaten path.

Although I liked the compass in the rear view mirror of my A4, its eye level position in my A6 allows for a quickly look without moving my eyes from the road ahead.
