I am looking to trade my 2012 Q5 for a 2013 A6 2.0t Quattro p+, Bose,side assist,sun screen,etc. I have read that the A6 no longer has fog lamps or headlight washers, and some have complained about he Bose system being week. Any input would be appreciated. The Q5 is going in Thursday for service and I will be test driving the A6 at that time.

I was coming from a 2008 Cadillac CTS, so the A6 is superior in every way. The sound system in the A6 is actually weaker and poorer sounding than the CTS was, despite that being a Bose system as well... Though the system in the A6 is passable, in my opinion. It just isn't up to the standard the rest of the car is, though. My only other complaints are lack of Remote Start and the annoying behavior of the car turning off when you get out of it. This is on a 2013, the 2012 doesn't have this issue, from what I understand.

Otherwise, this is the finest vehicle I've owned... And these are extremely small and nitpicking complaints. I love my A6.

Always thought headlight washers were a bit silly. They're annoying for 360 days out of the year and only marginally useful on the others. I also don't miss having fog lights--especially since the fog light locations are were the senors for the excellent adaptive cruise system go. The Bose is fine--Audi certainly could have done better, but I'm sure they wanted to upsell to the B&O.

In the grand scheme of things, if foglights and the Blose stereo are all we're left to complain about, I'd say Audi delivered on one of the best vehicles on the market.

The test drive alone should sell you on the car.

I did the exact same thing you did......Traded in my 2012 Q5 for a 2013 A6 2.0T Quattro P+, Bose, side assist, cold weather and 19" sport package. The A6 should be arriving at the dealership next week if all goes well. I love everything about the A6 and I'm sure during your test drive you will not be disappointed. Good luck with everything!

Thanks! Why did you trade your Q5? I am thinking of trading mine because the power steering whine, navigation issues and I have two other SUV a Yukon Denali and a BMW X5 and want a car. My wife likes the Q as I do but we want a sedan again. My kids got the old Benz and the not so old Saab to use. How was the resale on the Q. I hope better than most!

Love my car, but if i had to rant (2012 prestige)

Cup holders are a joke
Bose Stereo blows
Navi/Radio takes forever to boot up sometimes
Rear view Camera (2012) is also a joke. The camera on all of my past 4 Acura's was far superious

I HATE the brakes on the car. they do the job, and stop the car well, but they are very abrupt when parking, and make terrible noises when trying to ease into a stop or park. They just aren't smooth... Plus the brake dust is out of control!

Oh yeah the brakes did take some getting used to, but I never got used to the feeling in the steering.

I test drove the Q5 and would have bought it except I decided to go with something more fun and keep my other SUV for now. I picked up my '13 A6 3.0T Prestige yesterday and have put 250+ miles on it. I love it. The Bose stereo may be a bit weak, but it sounds good enough, and better from my iPhone than the radio. The rest of the car if fantastic. Love the LED headlights and adaptive cruise control (both features I initially didn't think I would want or need).
