Coolant leak - TDI emission warranty
2014 A6 TDI Prestige w/ 85,000 miles.
Noticing a slight coolant leak in the area of the water pump. I added 30 oz of G13 back to the coolant tank to bring it back between the Min and Max. I can't find any liquid coolant, just dried coolant near the pump. I will keep an eye on the level to see if this changes.
My question, does anyone think this would be covered on the TDI emissions extended warranty? Warranty states the long block among other things is covered, not sure if the pump is part of that.
Does not look like a difficult thing to change, ~$200 for the pump. I would easily do it myself if it was immediately critical but it would be nice if the warranty would cover it.
Thanks

It's called seepage and coolant pumps do that before they fail. I doubt highly it will be covered under warranty, but, you could argue the fix keeps the rpms up when cold and could cause premature failure. See if that's a compelling argument to someone?
