Going through the same issue on my first Audi 2012 A7 105,000 miles. In Michigan as well. Thanks for sharing. I was quoted over $8000.00 from the dealership. Reached out to Audi customer service 3 days ago. Still waiting to hear back. Hopefully, I will hear something soon. I met with the mechanic today and he showed me where the coolant had gotten into the wiring. Luckily, doesn’t appear to have gotten into the ECM, but they are not sure about other areas yet.
I received some very disappointing news today. After waiting almost two weeks and not hearing anything from Audi customer service, I called them. They denied giving me any help towards to repair of my car. They also stated a decision had been made over a week ago and they just forgot to call me. My first Audi customer service experience was horrible. I was in shock and didn’t really now what to say to the person on the phone. Called the dealer and looks like I’m opting for the cheaper repair or replacing as much wiring as possible and changing out the valve. I may ask if they can also disconnect and grease the connection that others are talking about. Still going to cost more than I had hoped for something they know is wrong with a lot of these cars.
I was up until last year - I'm in TN now. Sorry to hear that you've hit a wall. I would find a good small shop to take a look at the mechatronic connector and advise you on cleanup or replacement. You should be able to reduce the repair bill substantially. Tough issue on a very well engineered car. See if you can't get it repaired for less.
I was glad to find all of my connections to by dry and corrosion-free.
Plus the peace of mind knowing I have the updated sealed coolant valve now installed.
Here is the TBS to see if your MY 2012 or 2013 are affected - TSB # 2033806/6
With a good amount of searching, I finally found that TSB. Iy covers 2012 and 2013 model years. i cannot find anything for my 2014. is this also an issue with 2014 and later, or was a significant change made?
I can only guess that this issue was fixed somewhere during the 2013 MY for A6 & A7's.
Looks like the TBS is also listed as SB- 10058574-8951. Not sure if that makes it easier to find.
I would post a link but I only found links that download a PDF file.

don't count on it being fixed for 2013 A6 and A7.
that same damn valve is on my 2013 A5 and water wicked up to the engine ECM and made the car run like crap.
furthermore I can't figure out why my manual transmission 2.0 liter car needs a transmission cooler.
Audi doesn't recognize that the problem exists on the B8 platform but it does.
I have 90k mile audi c7 and having same issue so i replaced the valve, but still got a engine check p1624.
haven't you replaced a fuse after replacing the valve??

Reason: secured connector pins to work
