Got the parts from AudiUSAParts.com and my local mechanic put them in for $200 yesterday. Code is gone, so far so good. Total cost for parts and labor was less than $350
1love - I believe it is worth inspecting the TCM (Mecatronic) connector on the side of the transmission. This can be done with a mirror when the shields are off. I would absolutely do this at your next service and dry (if necessary) and di-electric grease the connector. If you your code doesn't reappear your probably fine .... just insurance at this point. Glad we could help. ....
Just finished replacing valve(pump) at the driver side, that connector was completely wet btw., but still have same code coming up, transmission fluid cooler control circuit high and EPC light.
I understand there is a another one of these located by the firewall. I'm looking at the pictures that someone posted about that valve by firewall and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get to that part... It's like I need to disassemble half of the engine to get there.
About the recall, I contacted Audi USA, they told me recall was repaired about 3 years ago,I'm not sure which part though.
Forgot to mention , I took the car to local Audi dealer, their diagnosis was two coolant after run pump failure no coolant migration.
Any input appreciated.

All -- apologies I forgot to update my post here. /15 A6 3.0T with 45K miles now -- had it at dealer couple thousand miles ago for Audi Care 45K service and I asked them to check the valve. They reported no issues -- dry.
Next oil change at an independent with many years of Audi experience I will make sure I'm in attendance and ask that it be checked again -- dealer has been great but I want to make sure the belly pan/pan below this valve is taken off and the connector is disconnected and inspected. I want to see it with my own eyes as this issue appears to be potentially catastrophic.
135k miles and running strong - still love the car - started looking for a 2018/2019 ..... even with this problem and a thermostat that took 6 hours to replace I will buy another. Thinking about a 2019 .... not sure I want a turbo!!

I'm likely going to go in a different direction when time comes to pass my /15 A6 3.0T on to its next caretaker so I haven't been following the changes in the model years of the later A6s. However, wasn't the first year of the C8 2019 and didn't it have a turbo motor for that model year (I'm talking V6 engine). I thought last year of the supercharged V6 was 2018?
Acuransx - yes, 2019 is the first turbo. I'm looking for a low mileage luxury/ adaptive suspension 2018 with low miles. I know most of the 3.0T quirks and brakes/ etc. Should be easy to care for ... and hopefully none of the early 2012/13 issues.
Question for you A6 owners .... what is the front end clunk with higher mileage. I get what feels like a bad strut bearing plate but there is no play or slop in the plates. Struts appear to work fine and everything I've read points to the lower control arm bushing but they don't really look bad?
The clunk is really only noticeable at low speeds over any sharp edge pothole or even speed bumps at low speeds?? You don't hear it at higher speeds.. weird.
Alignment is fine, car tracks true and tires are not feathering or wearing funny..... and it is front only. Any recommended treads or info would be great.
Reviving this thread as I am in the process of getting this repaired by my local dealership. It's costing me approx. $1850. Dealership is replacing the wiring harness as coolant got in the harness and is shorting out by connection. They also need to replace the connectors and flush the coolant. So with all that and labor, I'm looking at $1700 + tax. At least, I wont have a CEL light. Sucks! I wish I had the capacity to do this myself. Argh!
