Default Cylinder on demand?

Hi all,

I recently found out the 2013 S6 has a technology called cylinder on demand that shuts off half the cylinders during light load situations, which results in higher fuel economy.
Does the 2012/2013 A6 have this too?

ah, thanks for the reply.
Would have been nice if the V6 had this too.

Probably unnecessary on the V6 as it already gets almost the same gas mileage as the 4 cylinder. What kills the gas mileage is the quattro, or any AWD for that matter.

With all that said, I drive too spiritedly on the freeways to even see the benefits of cylinder deactivation. I did not buy my car for the gas mileage.
