Default Dealer invoice pricing

I've been trolling this forum for a year and decided to take a plunge on a 2013 A6 Prestige. The price I negotiated was $400 over invoice but when they showed me the invoice, it included "DAG" fee ($327) and "prepare & inspection fee ($195). Are these legitimate fees or just add on dealer profits? Thanks.

2013 A6 Prestige
Garnet Red/Velvet Beige
Innovation package
LED
Cold weather package
Power rear sunshade

I presume, because the deal is so tight, the dealer is adding the Audi advertising fee that gets charged to their invoice. The other fees will vary from state to state but should include registration and inspection.
Even if you can't get them to remove the $327, at $737 above invoice, that's still a very decent deal for a new 2013.

These are legitimate fees that are charged to the dealership. Thats why when you see the invoice, they are on the invoice side, not the MSRP side. These dont get passed on to the consumer. The invoice price paid for the car by the dealership is the total at the bottom of the page.

I agree that the ad fee is typically not "passed on" to the consumer. However, as you said, it is a charge the dealer is paying for in his cost. So, if a dealer is selling near online invoice cost (which usually does not show the ad fee in the total), they will try to add it back in to restore some profit. I'm assuming the OP is referencing invoice cost that he found online, not the dealers' actual invoice. Regardless, there are no rules - it's all part of the negotiation.

Thanks everyone for the response. As snagitseven said it, it's a decent deal even with the fee added. Will pick up the car after work. Can't wait.....
