This is certainly in the top 5 of the most asinine Audi complaints that I have heard.

So, if you want to use the 12v power - you would rather open the console - and then have to remove a plug cover to use the outlet?

hahahhahahahahahahahaha

....and I make no apologies for my flippant response.

I think the point is you wouldn't find them missing in almost EVERY other car brand, not that people care that much as you think

Some people complain about the sunglass holder

Some complain about the cupholders

Some complain about the missing outlet covers

Point is - different things matter to different people. What is asinine to one is important to another

I think the point is most will find some small thing to complain about. That's the nature of the beast and an earned entitlement as an owner - I have my list as well. On the other hand, to say the A6 C7 is like a Ford because of two missing small pieces of plastic that no one can see, seems to me a bit over the top.

Ok, while we're talking about power outlets.. I miss the fact that the outlets are hot when the car is turned off, like on my previous '08 A6. Is there a way to "turn them on" without turning on the car?

I think it was changed a few years ago as an anti-battery discharge issue. I left the GPS on in my wife's '02 allroad in the garage for two weeks when we were on vacation and when we returned, the battery was dead. While the battery was no spring chicken, the small draw of the GPS for two weeks surely didn't help.
It's all part of Audi's focus on energy savings; LED lamps, various phases of the electronic systems going to sleep, energy use awareness gauges, etc.

Does anyone know if there is a settings via Vag-Comm to do this?

I'll live with the Ford style empty outlets
What is your Audi parts number, 7M3 919 311?
