EU Tail Lights with amber signal lights?
I recall a while back someone did a recode of the tail lights and I believe you could retrofit the EU set on NA cars.
I believe it as kdagher who has the information.
Does anyone know if this is accurate?
"Only the inner lights will blink like in the video.. The outter cannot blink because it is on circuit.. So you either want brake on blink or you buy the european tailights and code 209: 12 et 210:44"

yep it's true. I did a bit of research on this; the outside "C" and backwards "C" shaped lights are all on the same circuit. You'd have to bust into the housing and rewire the LEDs. Using the thread below as a guide, and I have come up with how I'm going to customize how my taillights work - I'm gonna isolate the inside lights and activate the bottom one when braking and the top one when using the turn signal, with the outside ones activated for both. Might add the rear fogs when braking, but not sure if I'd like that. Now just need the courage and the cable.
If you do end up getting the Euro lights and do the re-wiring tweaks, please post the pics and the DIY!

it says right here
IMPORTANT:
To retrofit the EUROPEAN taillights, you either have to swipe two wires in the inner taillights (T2 <--> T3) or you can keep the wires as is, and
code them accordingly:
CHANNEL [195: 12 & 196: 44] and [203: 5 & 204: 37]

All US spec tail lights can use either amber or red color for turn signals, however Amber turn signals are the only legal color in Euro spec vehicles. I went to France and UK last month and all the turn signals are amber. I bought my aftermarket tail lights fr my 08 Q7 from Xtralights online and they have amber turn signals, check them out...

It is not just an EU rule, amber turn signals is a ROW mandate it's only the US and Canada who think that using a red light for everything is a good idea.
