I have almost 4K on my 3.0T and it still says full, although I have seen it say it's half full; it seems to bounce back and forth, even though I've never added oil. Opening the hood will force it to 'reset' its measurement. I figure as long as it doesn't show '1/4 full' or 'add oil' I won't add any. BUt I am seriously considering just buying the dipstick instead of trusting the temperamental gauge.

They have the dip sticks on eBay for $10 shipped. I like to have verification of the actual oil level.

Found some Castrol Edge Full Synthetic 5W-40 @ Pep Boys last night and added 3/4 qt. Hope it lasts until the next service at 15k.

I would be interested in getting the dipstick as well.

It's not listed under A6/A7 because that 3.0L didn't come with one. I was reading other threads, got a part number, searched eBay and found the part. I saved it in my "Watched" list months ago.

This place has the same part number (06E115611H) listed in the thread...looks like the ebay link is a different part number. It also lists the C7 A6 3.0T for fitment.
