My local audi dealership called me and let me know that they recieved the camera. Its tied to my vin number, didnt recieve a letter except the one saying a few weeks ago that they wouldnt be in until next year.

Camera looks and works great! took them about 3 1/2 hours to do the installation and calibration!

Just wanted everyone to know i recieved my camera! hopefully yours start arriving soon. the SA says that the A6's are recieving them first and the Q5's and a4's will be last to get them....

Had my camera chip installed on Monday of this week. Dealer took about 3 and 1/2 hours as well to complete. Very satisfied with the result.

I ordered a 2012 A6 with the Prestige package and Driver assist. Doesn't my car come with a rear view camera?

Yes, your's comes with the camera. The camera chips became in short supply after the plant in Japan was affected by the earthquake and tsunami. Therefore, earlier production cars had a 'camera prep' package. Most coming in these days have the chip already installed.

Audi handled this fairly well despite not being overly up front about it when buying. Mine only took 2 hours and was given a loaner and did not have to refill the tank despite going about 80 miles. Washed and detailed and all is fine.

Oddly the bluetooth links were removed during this visit. No big deal but seemed odd.

Bluetooth links removed was probably from a VAG reset during configuration

How is the clarity. Early models like mine look blurry.

Mine is blurry, I called the dealer and they said that's normal.
