Just out of curiosity, has anyone picked up the 2.0T CVT version of the A6? I know there's been a lot of debate here on whether it's "right" to put a 4 cyl turbo, but to me I think it fits the market perfectly for people who want the luxury, tech, and size of the A6 but don't need the extra HP. Also, it fills the perfect 43-49k hole for those who want something more than an A4/C class/3 series but don't have quite enough to move up to the 55k range.
I'm curious as to some "real world" driving experiences with the 2.0T.

When I bought my A6 last month, the sales manager told me he was forced to accept two A6 2.0T this month. He also said that there is no serious buyers or demand for the A6 2.0T as of now. We will see how it sells over the next few months, but I thing that CVT will be a big turn off for many buyers.

I know one of the posters here (Palemero?) was looking at the 2.0T and I think he had test driven it as well. Pretty sure Audi made the 2.0T available just to help meet MPG standards.

Actually I test drove the 3.0 - even though we were looking at the 2.0 - obviously, no one had a 2.0 a few weeks ago. I was seriously looking at the 2.0 because of the gas mileage and for many of the reasons that the original poster of this thread cited. However, after much thought we decided against it because of the transmission and some other factors: mainly concern over reliability.

What is your concern with the cvt? I would think it would be a good transmission for a comfort luxury ride? Clearly, if you are after a sporty ride it's no good, but then again you wouldn't be looking at the 2.0 anyway, right?

There's lots of sold order 2.0T's in the system and it can be a very difficult car to get for some parts of the country.
You might think it's the ugly duckly of the line-up, but the 2.0 A6 has been a sleeper car in that segment and a lot more in demand than most people would think.
