That statement came off my fingers wrong. The settle for a factory color was my scenario as I was almsot going to choose a factory A6 color over the special order I did. I got the impression alvam was thinking of settling for black as that was what he ordered vs the red which sounded like his favorite color between the two.

Congrats! It's a very unique color; nothing like brilliant red; much deeper. I love it! I resisted at first thinking I should go with the more traditional colors; gray, black, silver. But like you, every time I went to my dealer who had the red/beige A7 in the showroom, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. In the end, I got a great deal on a pre-owned that happened to be garnet red. I tinted with 35% Pinnacle all around and will have the Xpel clear bra installed next week. Don't second guess yourself. All the colors are gorgeous in their own way so you'll drive yourself nuts!

Volcano red is gorgeous. But it's definitely "race car red". If you wanted to feel good about garnet red not being a cop magnet, compare it side by side to a volcano red. Nonetheless, volcano red is gorgeous.

At one point I had a red Audi 5000, a red VW Convertible and a red Ford minivan. My wife and kids named them "lil Red" (the VW), "big Red" (the Audi) and "clunky Red" (the van). Lately though I have had silvers, one blue and a few greys - maybe red will be next - now that it is just me and one car. I do think if you love a color like the Estoril Blue and are already paying around 60 Big Ones it is worth going for what you really like, especially if you're going to keep it. I lease these days, so I seem to have less of a vested stake in various details of my car - I don’t fully understand why that is - but it is so.
