This is incorrect. The rear view camera has a parallel parking mode, but you have to do the rest.

Check out the latest Pod Cast on Motorweek. They give a very good review of the A^. Style, engine, MMI, quattro and handling.

That does bring up another question (after reading the NY Times review) - is there any review out there on the A6 2.0?

Also, if one does not want to spend in the $50,000 range for an Audi A6 but has little confidence in the 2.0 engine (and its transmission) - is there any hope in the next year or two that a new engine (perhaps 1.8 diesel turbo) might be coming along?

I think you may be incorrect.

In the UK you can have two park options, Park Advanced gives you the reversing camera, Park Assist is self parking with the driver only operating the throttle, the car does the steering after measuring the space.

Both of you are right. The European model parks the car for you the American model just helps by providing the lines in the camera , you have to do the rest.
