Just returned from a weekend trip from Colorado to Eastern Iowa - a little over 800 miles each way. The DIS was reporting 29.9mpg, actual measured was more like 27.5. We were driving with the traffic in CO and NE at 80, probably more like 75 in IA. There was a fair amount of decel/accel in the constriction zones.
I think thats pretty darn good for a car this size and comfort. On a side note, there were three drivers, and to a person we ALL fell in love with the ACC. It takes SO much stress out of a long trip like that.
>>>>>EDIT Finally did the math for the full trip. The calculated (total miles, total gallons consumed) comes up as 26.5 mpg. While less than I thought, I still think thats pretty good for a car this size, driving 80 with some windy conditions, and some city driving mixed in (not much tho). The conclusion that I do draw is the DIS can be quite misleading, but I knew that going in.
