Default Interior Door Handle Squeaks and Rattles

Hello,

When I put my left elbow on the driver's side interior door handle, it squeaks. When the road is a little rough, that same interior handles makes rattling and squeaking noises. The right side is silent.

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

Thanks.

Same issue here.
Will let the dealer deal with it next time I take it for service.

I wonder how hard is it to take it off and adjust it? It seems there is only one screw connecting it to the door.

Definitely take it in. My handle is completely solid.

+1 on the advice to take it in. If you try to fix it yourself, and you inadvertantly cause damage the dealer could decline to fix your damage free of charge. IMHO, not worth the risk. Plus, you wind up with a service record should the problem ever re-occur.

I have the same problem. I took the car in and the service manager yanked on the door armrest/handle and it went away for a while. It's now back. I tried yanking it again but it didn't work this time.

Sounds like what happens with the older B5/B6 door handles. There's a spring that keeps tension on the handle to keep it from flopping around. It could be that the spring is bad. Chances are the dealer would replace the door handle.

I'd definitely take it in and use your warranty.
