Very interesting -- I learning something today!
Part of my belief about summer tires comes from experience with the Continental ContiSport Contact summer tires that came as OEM rubber on a BMW in the family -- after the tires wore down about half way, they were so miserable in the rain that we took them off the car to keep someone from getting killed (the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires we put on as replacements have been an enormous improvement in all kinds of weather, even after the treads have gotten well worn, and the dry pavement handling has been excellent).
Of course, part of the reason the winter tires perform so well in the tests has to do with the stickiness of the tread. Summer tires get better grip by increasing the amount of rubber that's making contact with the pavement (hence the reason why 1970s muscle cars, Indycars, dragsters, today's high performance RWD cars, etc. often have fatter rear tires), but winter tires have softer tread compounds which stick better to snow and ice but wear at a much faster rate on dry pavement. And then as the article points out, there's the whole noise issue, which tends to be worse when you're dealing with aggressive tread designs like those on winter tires, plus the fact that winter tires usually have a very deep tread depth, which leads to the squirming that the article mentions.

So when I replace my 20" Pirelli's, I will be eyeing both Summer and All Season Bridgestones. Most likely will be the All Seasons, so that I can take it to Mammoth.

OK, Im officially very unhappy that I cannot use any of my iPOD's. I have the RED cable (upgraded from BLUE cable) and all I get on the screen is "This iPOD is not supported". I have tried 4 different iPODs
Any ideas, again, very disappointed...

It deals with the Red Cable specifically. I believe that you may require a software update to go with it. Some of the people in the thread have the cable and should be able to help you better.
I am actually planning to get that cable as well, so I hope your iPod issue gets resolved
