I didn't get much info from the dealer. They had an estimated San Diego arrival date. There was only 1 ship/month so it was easy to find. There is a thread here on tracking your car. Most useful sites I've found:

VWG logistics site has the ship schedules and names: http://www.pwl.de/static/schedules/vwl_hb.pdf

To track your ship: www.marinetraffic.com

Port of San Diego schedule: http://www.sdmis.org/schedule/

Back in Jan, I saw that the 1 ship leaving for San Diego was the Aphrodite Leader. Tracking that, its currently outside Long Beach and tracking the San Diego schedule it will arrive on the 16th.

So, I'm told that my car would arrive at port the week of 20th. Since I'm in DC Area, should be Baltimore port for me. How do I find out the ship details for that?

Wow, the Baltimore port is so close, should be at the dealership in no time. I live 20 mins from Baltimore and am told my ship is arriving on the 16th at the port in Georgia, unfortunately... Might take a little while to get up here...

Here's a thread that explains the shipping process.

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2809782

Here's names of ships that have carried other peoples cars.

Mediterranean Highway
Garnet Leader
Astral Ace
Olympian Highway
Nippon Highway
Firmament Ace

Ports:
Emden
Halifax NS
Davisville Rhode Island
Brunswick, GA
Port of Houston

Ships schedule @ Halifax
http://www.portofhalifax.ca/english/...tusreport.aspx

Check the Halifax schedule and work from there.

Looks like I stand corrected then. My bimmer came to Baltimore port and I assumed Audi might too since I see tons of cars on the Baltimore port, LOL.
Guess based on tenspeed's info and yours, best guess is that mine would come to Georgia too then. Last evening, I was told the same that might be take upto 7-10 days from port to when car will be ready.

I could be wrong. I add info as I see it and I haven't seen any mention of a Baltimore port.

I plan on ordering a car so I'm interested in tracking it when the time comes.

I have an A6 on order now as well. My dealer in the Detroit area said it would come through a Delaware port. I know Baltimore is not Delaware (close enough), but maybe they are referring to the same place.

If you have a load date, how do you tell what ship your car is on?

My car arrived in Phoenix today. I'll pick it up tomorrow :-)! So from unloading in San Diego on the 16th, didn't take long to clear customs and get trucked even with the 3 day weekend.

Ordered early November. Will post pics once I get it.
