I agree,it is back on the time table. Should arrive Houston on the 19th. At least we should be able to track most of the time if they stay close to the coast line.

It is 2:30 CST and the ship has just pulled away from the dock. It is now showing a ETA in Houston of 12/18 at 16:00 UTC. Looks like they might unload on the 19th as planned! One more sea leg, then customs, then a teamster and then the dealer's shop guys, and then home!

What is this showing? The Garnet Leader is still out to sea, out of RF range for AIS tools like Marinetraffic.com.

The Mediterranean Highway was off of Biscayne National Park (top of Key West chain) early morning on 12/16 and has another 900 NM to reach Houston. Should take ~55 hours.

I saw that. The Garnet Leader (with my car aboard) is supposed to arrive in Brunswick, GA today but it is not near enough to the coast yet to be picked up by AIS. I'm thinking it will be late a day, just like the Med Hwy was into Halifax.

Now that the ship is going due west, it has a 15kn tailwind and is now making 18.5 knots. That tail wind will be in place most of the way and actually veers from the SE right about the same time the ship will make the NW turn towards Houston. It very well may easily beat that 55 hour estimate. Not really important but interesting nonetheless. I'm learning a bit about shipping as I watch my (and your) car make the voyage.
