MMI Screen Retraction Issue
If anyone is having issues with their MMI screen retracting there may want to check with their dealer and reference tech bulletin 2028446/3.
My screen was "chattering" when closing, basically the left side wasn't gliding smoothly. It never got stuck or anything but it was a little annoying. I mentioned to my service advisor when I had my first service done and she found the bulletin.
Took the car in yesterday and according to the paperwork they removed the MMI unit and replaced the mounting (part # 4GB-857-346-E) which is apparently a $900 plus part from what I found on-line. In addition, they performed a ZUG update but I don't think they advanced my firmware.
The unit does retract smoothly now...
