Here's everything you need to do for the retrofit. Decided to bring my site back to live after seeing so many people having issues with that. It's super easy retrofit by the way, just make sure you get all cables from the donor card or 2nd hand shop. If you want to make em yourself, it will be harder.

I have tried a number of times to get the motion sensor to work. Never did. I figured my 2016 just didn’t have the feature. I noted in the manual it doesn’t work if you just closed the lid. Maybe that’s when I was trying it. In any event I tried once again and voila, it worked. I’m not sure it’s going to be that reliable and I think it might just be better to use the old fashioned way rather than looking like a fool in the parking lot half the time.

It is a clever German design that knows if you need it to open or not. If you don’t want it to open when you walk by the rear of the car, it will open. If your hands are full of items that you wish to put in the trunk then it will never open until you put the items down.

Isnt that the truth! On our 2015 Prestige it never seems to want to open when you need it, funny how I can do it faster (although more annoying) to actually have to get my keys out to open the trunk than using their fancy tech

mine works 100% of the time. You must be doing something wrong. Are you doing the quick field goal kick just right of center?

Thanks guys for this thread, I had no idea whether I had this feature and I figured what the heck, let's just try it... nothing to lose except for looking like a moron if it doesn't work. Lo and behold, it works and I don't need it, but I like it!
