It's been noted on this forum that the most recent version(s) of the MMI software feature a street view snapshot of your destination as you arrive. I've got a 2013 prestige that used to show me that destination picture every time I used the nav. Recently, however, it has become sporadic. Sometimes I get the picture, sometimes just the checkered flag. It has nothing to do with the particular address, because even the same address (my house) sometimes produces the picture and sometimes does not. Anybody else experiencing this?

This is one I've not been able to nail down. I have MMI 0566 and while I have Street View, I've never seen it pop up automatically near a destination with either Standard or Google Earth maps. I thought maybe it was added with version 0609 in later 2013 models. What is your MMI version and what is your location?

I believe it is 0609. I know it is a very recent update because this car is a replacement for a lemon C7 which was also a 2013. That one had an earlier version of the MMI and did NOT have the destination picture.

BTW it only shows up in Google Earth mode (that is, when it does show up).

When you get a chance, if you could confirm the MMI version is 0609, that would be great.
As to why it may be not showing all the time for you at a Street View available location, it could be that something is happening on Google's end.

Just checked, and it is indeed 0609. Snagit, do you happen to know if this is the latest version of the software?

Keep in mind streetview isn't available for every destination on google maps. Just a thought.

Yes. It started to show up in mid-year 2013 C7s. (0566 was introduced with the first 2013s). Unfortunately, Audi has not as of yet shown 0609 in the database for any C7s which prevents dealers from revising to that version, only 0566. Hopefully, that will change - there's no systematic changes in the car at mid-year that would prevent an upgrade that I'm aware of.
