My car only has the storage bin. I'm in NY. It stands to reason that if some models have a lighter then the wiring must be under the storage bin to install a lighter. Maybe someone on this forum knows if this is true and how to install the lighter.

Early Premium Plus here and it came with the ashtray and lighter, no option to add or delete...

I guess this could go on and on with everyone who owns a 2012 A6 reporting in but it's clear that there was a change made eliminating the ashtray/lighter sometime after the first 2012 arrivals. The 2013 is the same - no lighter or ashtray.
It is what it is.

I know. But it's always fun to bitch. The BMW I used I have had a receptacle in the passenger footwell.

I was in a P+ yesterday and it has a storage bin in front of the shifter, no ashtray/power outlet. I can't confirm the prestige at this time. Have you thought about hardwire in? I always hardwire my V1 and will be doing the same thing when the new car comes.
